What Can You Do To Get More Adwords Leads or Sales?

If you’re a small business owner or marketer using Adwords (Google), then you probably working very hard to get more leads while trying to lower your Google advertising costs.

And chances are good that because you’re so busy that you may miss some of the best ways to improve your conversion rates.


Discover More Keywords and Negatives

You can expand your Adwords keyword list and find more keywords to use in your Adwords account by mining the data in your search query reports. Identify search terms which meet your cost / conversion goal.
Download this information into an Excel spread sheet and add these keywords into Google’s external keyword tool to find even more related keywords.

If you use broad match keywords be sure to add irrelevant search terms as negative keywords Another way to find more negative keywords is to do a normal broad search using Google.


Turn Broad Match to Exact Match

Getting back to the search query report you’ll notice that a lot of broad match long tail keyword phrases show up. If some of these long tail keywords have enough impressions then it may be worthwhile to create exact matches and then adding them to an appropriate ad group.


Test Destination URL’s (Landing pages)

Every landing page will have a different conversion rate so it’s important that you split test landing pages to see which one is performing better.

Google makes this testing very simple. All you have to do is to create 2 different landing pages and provide Google with the two different Destination URL’s.  Google will give you the code that you must insert on the appropriate pages.

Google will automatically rotate the different landing pages and a record of the conversion for each page will be made.

Use Google’s Website Optimizer to continually test different calls to action, value propositions, fonts, colours and choose the best combinations.


Hour Of The Day/Week of The Day Reports

Mine the data in your reports to monitor how your campaigns perform during different times/days of the week. You may find for example that your ads perform best between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. during week days and you can then up your bid prices during that period.

Competitors Clicking on Ads

Since 2010 our advertising was gradually getting more and more expensive and we were getting less leads from Google.
